Bluetti
The Bluetti EP500 is a wheeled home energy station with 5.12 kWh LiFePO4, 2000 W AC output and 1200 W solar input. Built-in UPS function for automatic switchover during outages. Ideal as a home energy backup.
The Bluetti EP500 is a giant in home energy storage. With 5.12 kWh of LiFePO4 capacity, it's equivalent to two days of power for essential household devices (fridge, router, lighting, charging). It delivers 2000 W continuous (4800 W surge), enough to run most home appliances.
Its biggest strength is the built-in UPS function: during a power outage, switchover is nearly instant (<20 ms), protecting sensitive devices. It's a true backup system, not just another battery.
With 1200 W MPPT solar input, you can recharge the EP500 in 4 to 6 hours with solar panels. The battery offers 3500 cycles to 80% capacity, roughly 10 years of daily use. The Bluetti app provides basic monitoring of charge status and consumption.
The main downside: 76 kg. It's a massive wheeled unit clearly designed to stay in a corner of your home. It has no IP rating, so it's strictly indoor. And there's no smart meter or dynamic grid injection, so it doesn't replace a balcony solar self-consumption system. It's primarily a backup and off-grid solution.
